KnowledgeMatrix

KnowledgeMatrix creates a collaborative information sharing workspace across a team's BlackBerry devices.

KnowledgeMatrix is perfect for a tightly-knit team working on common projects, no matter if the members are top gun sales professionals focused on key customer accounts, attorneys and legal assistants working on a far-ranging case, or foremen building the newest high-rise that changes the skyline.  The product is free-form but supports templates, allowing a team to set KnowledgeMatrix up for their profession and projects with ease and creativity.

KnowledgeMatrix is, in essence, a fully-functional group version of ideaMatrix, with a highly-evolved version of the REXdesktop server system supporting the workgroup. The server software enables advanced collision detection correction, greatly reducing the number of records that would collide and require human intervention. All the complexity is hidden from the users, keeping the system easy to use.

KnowledgeMatrix is not yet generally available for download.

Top Ten Features

1. A Collaborative Team Knowledge Space, Always Available on your BlackBerry   The BlackBerry is a perfect place to put your collaboration information because it is always with your team members, on their hips or in their purses or briefcases.

KnowledgeMatrix makes it easy to accomplish and maintain.

In this example, a professional sales team shares the status and progress of individual major accounts.

2.  Synchronization of All Team Members in a Timely Fashion

Synchronization is automatic and managed by REXwireless Software's REXdesktop servers.

This results in the knowledge team being able to create and maintain their KnowledgeMatrix workgroup with no I/T department support.

Users can issue a manual Sync Now command to ensure that they are up-to-date.

3. Full "IdeaMatrix"-like Functionality, including BlackBerry application injection features

KnowledgeMatrix is based on the highly-successful ideaMatrix product and retains nearly all the functionality while adding team synchronization.

Please review the top ten features from ideaMatrix and perhaps download the ideaMatrix trial.  All the cool stuff, such as injection from BlackBerry e-mail and phone log, to Indy*Search, makes the transition to KnowledgeMatrix.

4. Advanced Collision Detection Correction on REXdesktop

The "heavy lifting" in the KnowledgeMatrix solution occurs within a new advanced REXdesktop synchronization server engine called RDX2.

RDX2 merges changed text within a field, a step beyond normal REXdesktop which detects collisions based on the entire field.

5. Record Ownership and Record Locking Support

When a team member knows that he will be doing major modifications to a specific record, he can issue a temporary record-lock, preventing others from modifying that record until the large-scale changes are complete.

KnowledgeMatrix also offers the ability for the original creator of a particular note to mark a note as read-only, preventing modifications or deletions by team members.

6. Create, Copy & Paste Templates with Ease

KnowledgeMatrix offers a group templates drawer and folders.

Within this area, templates can be created that are later used for the creation of certain repetitive notes such as sales call planning forms, job tickets, invoice requests and so forth.

7. Can Support Teams that Span Company and Country Boundaries

KnowledgeMatrix does not require a homogeneous BlackBerry environment to accomplish its mission.  BlackBerry Enterprise Server (BES) software is not a requirement.

This means that workgroups can span multiple companies and multiple cellular carriers with ease, including a mix of BES attached and BIS attached BlackBerry devices.

8. User Independence for Certain Aspects of Organization & Use

KnowledgeMatrix mixes a lot of the flexibility found in ideaMatrix with the group environment.

As an example, a user can use drag / drop sorting to change the order of notes in a folder to her liking, without effecting another user's sort order.  Likewise, special views such as "last viewed" and "last edited by me" are user and not group specific.

9. Each User has Full REXdesktop access to their Version of KnowledgeMatrix

Each team member receives a fully-functional version of REXdesktop which maps to their BlackBerry device's view of the pervasive KnowledgeMatrix.

This allows a team member to work with the convenience of a full-screen and keyboard when it makes the most sense.

10. Last Edits by Member Cross-Matrix Views for Everyone on Team

New special views such as are provided that allows team members to see the changes that are happening to the Matrix, sorted by team member or as a whole.

So that information is not inadvertently lost, the team leader has the ability to view two weeks of KnowledgeMatrix history on his or her REXdesktop session, enabling recovery of information if necessary.
