AlertMatrix
sets up custom alert profiles that define how the BlackBerry
notifies you of events. Several sample alert profiles are created
when the program is first downloaded and installed.
BlackBerry
Profiles:
Each profile
created in AlertMatrix has a corresponding profile inserted into
standard BlackBerry Profiles (see
BlackBerry Profiles / Advanced / Edit Profile).
Final management of ring tones, vibration settings, and LED
indication are set with BlackBerry Profile Manager, not within
AlertMatrix.
AlertMatrix cannot
forcefully set how BlackBerry Profiles are inserted and configured
due to program application interface limits in the BlackBerry
operating system. We advise checking the settings on every new
alert profile in BlackBerry Profiles after one is created or
modified within
AlertMatrix.
Overriding
BlackBerry Profiles:
AlertMatrix
includes several additional ring tones for use as overrides to the
BlackBerry Profile Manager settings. These are useful when a
person wants a tone to trigger even when the BlackBerry tones are
set to Off or Vibrate Only.
When override tones
are used, the BlackBerry actually triggers both the AlertMatrix tone
and whatever tone is active in BlackBerry Profiles.

Go to "Alerts Management" to set up
alert profiles.
Helpful Hint:
Every profile in AlertMatrix has a corresponding entry in
standard BlackBerry Profiles
(where one changes phone ring tones). Always check the
settings in BlackBerry Profiles to ensure the alert
notification
sounds or vibrates as desired.
